Information for Media Covering the Visit of Pope Francis

The Pope’s visit to Washington, D.C., was coordinated by four separate Catholic institutions working in partnership with one another.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB)  coordinated media credentials for the papal visit to the United States. The USCCB posted information about media credentialing and other items of interest that all members of the media interested in covering the visit should review.

The Archdiocese of Washington  provided information about the Pope’s Washington, D.C., schedule on the media page of its website.

The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception was the site of the papal Mass and canonization of Blessed Junípero Serra on Sept. 23. Media contact information is available on the Basilica’s website.

The Catholic University of America Office of Public Affairs  provided a media center for journalists covering the papal visit. The office also assisted the media with information and faculty experts about the Pope’s visit.
