Walk with Francis

“Let us build our lives of faith on the rock who is Christ.” – Pope Francis

Campus Ministry held a series of prayerful events and created resources to help members of the CUA community prepare for our Holy Father’s visit to campus. Masses have been offered in Spanish to help people participate in the papal Mass.

University Prayer Cards
Before Pope Francis’s visit, Campus Ministry distributed University Pope Francis prayer cards. The Pope Francis Five-Finger Prayer serves as a guide for personal prayer before the visit.

Heavenly Father, we ask Your blessing on Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, as he travels to the United States. We pray particularly for The Catholic University of America community as His Holiness celebrates the Eucharist with us. United in prayer with the Shepherd of Your Church, strengthen us in our mission to raise up educated men and women to engage the culture with the light of Faith and Truth.

We recommit ourselves to share the joy of the Gospel with every person we encounter. May the Pope’s visit strengthen our resolve to feed the hungry, clothe the naked and shelter the homeless. May Your mercy transform our hearts to see all as brothers and sisters in Christ. May the Pope’s visit not become just a passing moment in our lives; rather, let it become a pivotal encounter with You, our God. In our life’s journey, let us walk with Francis with renewed hope, steadfast love, and confidence in the salvation You offer us through Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Padre celestial, te pedimos Tu bendición para Nuestro Santo Padre, el Papa Francisco, mientras viaja por los Estados Unidos. Te pedimos particularmente por la comunidad de La Universidad Católica de América mientras Su Santidad celebra la Eucaristía con nosotros. Unidos en la oración con los Pastores de Tu Iglesia, danos fuerza en nuestra misión de inculcar hombres y mujeres educados que se dediquen a la cultura de la luz en la Fe y la Verdad.

Nos comprometemos nuevamente a compartir la buena nueva del Evangelio con cada persona que encontremos. Que la visita del Papa fortalezca nuestro compromiso de alimentar al hambriento, vestir al desnudo y dar techo al desamparado. Que Tu misericordia transforme nuestros corazones para ver a todos como hermanos y hermanas de Cristo. Que la visita del Papa no se convierta en un momento efímero en nuestras vidas; más bien un encuentro crucial contigo, nuestro Dios. Permítenos caminar con Francisco en nuestra jornada de vida, con una esperanza renovada, un amor firme y la confianza en la salvación que nos ofreciste a través de Tu Hijo, Nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
