Blessed Junípero Serra

The Office for Catechesis of the Archdiocese of Washington has developed a number of educational materials to help families, individuals, parish religious education programs, and Catholic schools learn about the Holy Father, his mission, and the importance of his visit. The resources posted on the archdiocesan website include brochures about Pope Francis for children and adults, as well as a number of children’s activities, prayer resources and lesson plans for various grade levels. All of the materials are available in both English and Spanish.

Also included on the website is a trifold brochure about Blessed Junípero Serra, the 18th century Franciscan Friar and founder of numerous missions in California who will be canonized by Pope Francis at the Mass he will celebrate on Sept. 23 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception adjoining the Catholic University campus. The brochure is available as a PDF file for download in English and Spanish.
