School of Social Service Responds to the Call of Pope
The “Francis Effect” is humming in the National Catholic School of Social Service long after Pope Francis departed. The school’s students already did what Pope Francis calls us all to do: care for the vulnerable and marginalized, the fragile, the poor among us. To have our Holy Father stand on the east portico of the Basilica, look out over the CUA community, and gaze upon Shahan Hall, home to the National Catholic School of Social Service, was a direct affirmation and blessing to the school! We will continue to live out Catholic Social Teaching at the school, helping people who society has forgotten, neglected, and rejected.
